Sword Ciboodle Academy

Learning is not compulsory. Neither is survival

W. Edwards Demming (1900-1993)

We think Demming got it right! If we are not continuously learning from our experiences, our customers, our colleagues and - most importantly of all - from our mistakes, then we're not going to be in business very long. In fact, we're not going to be in business at all!

To ensure the ongoing growth of all Sword Ciboodle staff, we have created the Sword Ciboodle Academy where the purpose is "to attract, develop and retain talent within the organisation".

Start With The End in Mind

Involvement with the Academy starts on day one at Sword Ciboodle. Your induction program is tailored to give you necessary understanding of our culture, structure, and strategy. Our senior managers will offer you their knowledge and expertise on the market we work in, our technology offering, our customers, and how we engage and deliver solutions.

We value communication, both internal and external, so within 5 days of joining you will be brushing up your own communication skills by participating in one of our communication courses - ably delivered by one of our creative training partners.

After a challenging first week, you will understand the high standards we set ourselves and you will have met and presented to key members of the senior management team. You will also have worked closely with the team of other new starts - so you are already growing your new network of colleagues and friends.

We make your Induction challenging because within 2 weeks we need you to be ready to add value to our customers. Working in high performance teams, you will be engaged in real work: solving real problems, creating relationships with real customers, and helping the team succeed.

Hands-on Learning

If you have a technology background, the induction week is followed by an equally intensive technology training week. You will learn how our technology works by rolling up your sleeves and using it to model real business processes. The training is very much hands-on: you will get real experience of how our tools can be used to solve business critical issues for large organisations.

The Academy offers a variety of internal, external and online courses that are tailored to fit business needs and which are an excellent opportunity for staff to develop their current skills and learn some new ones! However, we also know from experience that the most effective way to learn how to do a job is to actually do it!
